Frequently asked questions

What is TDS and Why measure it?

Measuring TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) levels is the most effective way to assess your drinking water quality. TDS refers to the organic and inorganic particles dissolved in water, which can alter its taste and appearance. These dissolved solids come from various sources, including old pipes, road salt runoff, pesticides, fertilisers, and other sources of contamination.

How Long do Zero Filters Last?

The lifespan of your filter depends on two key factors: the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) level in your tap water and your daily water usage. TDS measures the concentration of dissolved organic and inorganic substances in your water, which can be checked using a TDS meter.

Lower TDS = Longer Filter Life

Please refer to the section Estimating Filter Longevity for more information.

Filter Replacement Guidelines
  • Replace the filter when TDS levels reach 006 PPM or higher.

  • A change in the taste or smell of filtered water also indicates it’s time for a replacement. If you notice this, use the TDS meter to verify.
